Building Regulations Compliance Certificate You should receive one of these if a Gas Safe registered engineer installs a heat producing gas appliance in your property. It’s effectively a way of informing the Local Authority of the new appliance, and you should receive it in the post within 28 days of a new appliance being installed.
The engineer will provide the landlord with a Gas Safety Record (previously known as a certificate or a CP12). The record will show: A description of each appliance tested. Results of the safety checks carried out on each appliance. Any safety issues identified during the checks. Any action or work needed to ensure safety.
A Declaration of Safety Certificate is a little different to a Building Regulations Certificate. It’s issued when a flueless gas cooking appliance (such as a cooker or hob) is notified. These aren’t covered by the Building Regulations, but can be voluntarily notified .
A boiler certificate provides confirmation that your appliance was installed by a suitably qualified heating engineer. You should receive your copy in the post a few days after the boiler was installed. This certificate will need to be kept in a safe place. If you lose it, you may be able to order a replacement for a small fee.
